Receives $35,000 from Washington Mutual
Washington Mutual has generously provided
a $35,000 grant to support the Asian Pacific Islander Small
Business Program collaborative. This critical funding enables
numerous entrepreneurs to receive individual business counseling
and training for a variety of start-up and expansion issues.
"We're pleased to support microenterprise technical assistance
programs for API-owned small businesses in metropolitan
Los Angeles," said Jonathan "Mac" Macaranas, Corporate Giving
Manager at Washington Mutual. He added, "Your organization
provides valuable services to our community and we're pleased
to support the excellent work you do."
In addition to this latest grant, Washington
Mutual has been a dependable supporter of API SBP's small
business assistance programs. WAMU has also sponsored the
annual Asian Small Business Expo over the past 4 years.

to assist the development of small- and micro-businesses
in Los Angeles, especially those of low income immigrants,

public. Since the program's launch in 1999, API SBP has
helped clients to start numerous businesses. Types of clients
